One of the rituals of my self appreciation is to treat myself to a GOOD chocolate.
Eating European chocolate when growing up, I thought I know what a good chocolate is.
Who would think, that one of the best chocolates of the world, I will find in Michigan. You don't believe me, I know. I did not believe, until I tasted it.
One of the activities I like to do, is to explore. And what is more fun than exploring, when at the end there is a delicious food waiting. So off I went, to find
The Chocolate Garden. And the rest is a history, the new convert was born.
This weekend, I was even lucky to meet the owner, lovely woman who is behind this sweet booming business. I can appreciate what does it take to be a female entrepreneur, and my admiration goes to those who persevere and succeed.
Back to the chocolate now. My favorite truffle, because these are a handmade truffles in many varieties, not your ordinary chocolate bars, my favorite is Solera Double Gold. Intrigued by the deligtfull flavor of this particular one, I wanted to finally taste the sherry, that goes into the making of this truffle. I decide to visit
St. Julian winery in Paw Paw.
Now equpiped with bottle of Solera Cream Sherry and handmade truffles from Chocolate Garden, I was ready to face the gloomy weekend, or celebrate the sunny one.
The progression of tasting is documented in these photographs
